Regular Giving

Regular donations are enabling us to make lasting improvements to important College facilities and in the past have supported a number of projects such as the refurbishment of The Chatfeild-Roberts Library and Big Classical.

We must continue providing bursaries but equally importantly we need your support with the kind of projects outlined here.

2016 sees the 175th anniversary of College and we would love to have 175 new individuals making regular gifts to College.

To support College on a regular basis please complete the Gift Agreement form.

If you would like more information about Regular Giving please do feel free to get in touch with Christiane Dickens, Development Director on 01242 706815 or via email c.dickens@cheltenhamcollege.org.

Q. What is regular giving?

It is a commitment to make a charitable contribution on a regular basis. Regular giving allows us to plan more effectively for the future by providing a development fund that enables us to bring projects to fruition far earlier than might otherwise be possible.

The easiest and most efficient way to make a contribution is via a regular monthly/quarterly/annual gift over a period of time, for example 4 years, by direct debit; but gifts may also be made via credit card or cheque payments, or the gift of stocks or shares.

If you are a UK tax-payer you can increase the value of your gift by completing a gift aid declaration on the Gift Agreement form. The value of gifts can also be significantly increased if your employer operates a gift-matching scheme.

Q. What are we raising money for?

With your support we will be able to fund some projects of immediate need across both Schools and increase our ongoing bursary provision.

The proposed improvements to Cheltenham College are key for us delivering excellent education standards in the 21st Century and receiving regular support allows us to plan most effectively for their implementation.

Regular giving is part of our overall development effort and operates alongside The Hugh Reeves Legacy Society, the solicitation of Major Gifts, Corporate Giving and Sponsorship. Every gift, no matter how large or small, really does make a difference. With your generosity we will be able to build an exciting future for the College.

You have given my daughter the most precious gift an excellent education. Thank you so much. This is perhaps the most important building block in her life.
Lindy Sharpe, Past Parent.

Q. How will my gift be recognised?

All donors receive written acknowledgement of their gift in a timely manner and gifts will be allocated in accordance with their wishes. In addition, gifts will be listed in an Annual Report and on the current donor list online unless, of course, you wish to remain anonymous. As a donor you will also receive regular updates and invitations to special events.

Q. Who is involved?

All members of the College community will be provided with the opportunity to invest in the College’s future including current and past parents and members of staff, Old Cheltonians and other friends of the College.

Everyone involved with College will benefit from the improvements made due to your investment. Current parents, for example, will be able to contribute to the development of improved facilities and fund some projects of immediate need across both Schools. OCs and others will be able to play their part in shaping the lives of future generations of Cheltonians.

I was so excited when I heard I had won a scholarship to Cheltenham College. There was no chance I could have got there without one and I was very nervous sitting the scholarship exams. I worked and played hard throughout my time there, made loads of friends, got straight A's at A level and got my dream... acceptance to Cambridge University!
